Book trolleys for libraries – ergonomic transport and display

Book trolleys are a practical and ergonomic tool in libraries for transporting, storing and displaying books and other media. A wheeled book trolley provides clear overview and allows materials to be moved safely and efficiently wherever needed. Here you’ll find book trolleys in various designs, sizes and colours.

  • Safe and efficient transport of books and media
  • Clear storage combined with display
  • Designed for daily use in libraries

Book trolleys for everyday library work

Book trolleys are used daily in libraries to move materials between return areas, workspaces and shelving. They can also function as temporary storage units or as mobile display surfaces for new titles, themed collections or reserved and returned items.

Different models and functions

Book trolleys are available in a wide range of designs and sizes. Larger trolleys can handle and display large volumes of media and work as flexible, mobile shelving units that can be repositioned as needed. Trolleys with slanted shelves are particularly suitable for front-facing display and signage.

Ranges and configurations

The ExLibris book trolley is available in three sizes: small, medium and large. The shelves are adjustable and the trolley is offered in several colours. The ExLibris range also includes a larger model that can be adapted for different media types such as paperbacks, audiobooks, folios and CD/DVD collections.

The Bike book trolley is a compact and lightweight model with four shelves, two of which are adjustable. It is available in several colours and is complemented by a visitor trolley and an archive trolley within the same series.

The Rondus book trolley is a double-sided model with eight shelves, six of them adjustable, and is available in multiple colours. The Småland book trolley is also double-sided and features two fixed and four adjustable metal shelves that can be angled.

Balancing transport and display

When choosing a book trolley, it is important to consider how and where it will be used. A trolley should support efficient transport while offering good ergonomics for staff and, when needed, function as a display surface.
